Katie is an ambitious person with an enthusiastic and committed attitude. She is a good team member and a dedicated contributor to have in any project setting. Her main interest is in the development of documentaries and factual based content. Considering this passion she would best suited for a career in journalism working in areas such as research for documentary shows or articles for news stations. The main inspirations in this area of media are exponents such as Stacey Dooley and Louis Theroux; their work in the media industry shows a really well presented and informed way of communicating serious subjects and bringing them to a light, creating an awareness of serious subjects and displays subjects that majority of people would feel in inaccessible or of no interest. For Katie, this ambition, to make Media about such intense subjects, is passion and is something she feels she could make a significant contribution to in the real world.

Katie’s skills in media are well presented in her reports with her research being the area the achieves he best outcomes. With an enthusiastic ambition for learning, this area of her work never fails to stand out within her peers and can be a valid asset to set project and client work. As an example and although never having made this documentary for a professional use, and as a piece of work for herself, she has made an experimental video where she explored what the world would like in the eyes of a blind person. In her report work for this project her research is highly developed and targeted, using a specific range of channels of research looking into what living without vision is like, even going as far as to conduct a short experiment trying to learn what it would be like to live as a blind girls for a short while. This shows the depth of investigation Katie is willing to go to research for a project effectively - and how much enthusiasm she expects to invest.

Concerning extra work and experience, Katie has taken part in a wide range of different areas of work experience, including Camera operator, Floor management, and Project management and has even taken part in photography sessions in previous project work. This experience took place with the colleges own media team titles “Springboard TV”. She also has experience in studio filming having undertaken such work in the college very own studio filming live streams of gaming streams or live music events. Katie has also taken time in editing to help assemble and produce projects together both in her own work as well as work experience with Springboard. Although not her strongest area, shows Katie is willing to apply skills where ever she can to achieve a high standard work ethic. Katie also took part in a UK national competition titled “World Skills UK”. Katie achieved in getting to the finals of this competition as project manager for her team winning bronze in the end, a huge achievement for the team.

Hobbies and interest are also important and Katie displays a lot of interest in a few important complimentary to media areas. One of her main interests is the subject of true crime stories; be it in the form of book or film, as fascinating true stories go, when told right are interesting and strange to hear about. Katie does also enjoys hobbies such as baking and gardening. These appeal to Katie as they are relaxing and considered good for the well-being of one’s mental and physical health. Doing this to helps maintain a good work ethic without over working and allowing time for the brain to relax when under pressure from work tasks. Taking all of this into consideration. Katie shows a lot of strengths into her work and shows a lot of ambition for the area she’s most interested in. This also shows she knows how to balance a healthy lifestyle and keep all things active under control when there is pressures in work that some other people would not necessarily be able to handle. All of this has proved her to be good choice for a member within a strong team, a player always fit for a challenge!
